Game: DRIFTOPIA (SEADOG BETA)
Platform: IOS / ANDROID
Genre: Survival / Crafting / Exploration
Overview
Driftopia is essentially a combination of Raft and Subnautica, but it is a much more compact and lackluster package. It does not have a great deal of content that can be exhibited in its current version. This is but a mere test of the server's connectivity.
Graphics & Presentation
The images constantly changing from high quality to low quality as the world around you just spawned in as you moved throughout the islands and the water were terrible. I can't say that this was appealing due to the fact that all of the UI is so tiny and pixelated, making it impossible to read half of the important stuff.
I dismissed it as nothing more than technical issues that ought to be resolved in the future, but I also don't really like giving developers much of an opportunity to make excuses because the quality of games has become so much cleaner in recent years.
At least it had a good soundtrack; it was of a high quality and did not have any errors that would have spoiled it. Though the lag and disconnects made it hard to enjoy.
Gameplay
The name of this game gives away the game's theme. In this game, you are a character who is floating across the ocean, accumulating resources such as food, and weapons in order to engage in combat with other players and powerful monsters. If they ever made the decision to actually spawn, which they did very infrequently for me over the four hours that I spent playing.
In addition to that, once you have accumulated sufficient building material you can construct and design a larger raft. I found this to be really annoying because, at the moment, the game is mostly focused on that particular aspect, drifting along.
After you have logged in, you will be put in a random location on the map, far away from any islands, despite the fact that the map itself indicates that you are right on top of them even if you had moved closer before you had logged out.
Therefore, the issue with this is that if you spawned on another player, you would both collide with each other and have the ability to kill each other indefinitely. This would continue until one of the players left the server and rejoined it, at which point your position would be reset. In point of fact, it was pretty irritating.
Conclusion
Although that is true, the primary focus of this examination was on Asia. Additionally, it can be obtained for Global by utilizing the APK link that can be found on their official website. I can't claim that I was having a lot of fun because I did most of the time simply put everything on auto-run and just wait for a few hours while I swam across the ocean to island after island in quest of any actual content.
It didn't have much available as of right now, that was actually interactable.
