I know I’ve raised a few eyebrows with this one, but for newer players and fans of the game, rest assured with the idea that rank is not truly a testament of skill but more so of a testament of persistence. You can and will hit superstar if you stay in ranked, and don’t get discouraged. Even if you solo Q, given enough time and decent hero proficiency, you’ll reach Superstar. Ranked for a lot of players is a numbers game, more games played, more bad opponents appear, more rank placement you’ll receive. Just utilize your shield effectively, and use upcoming shields to motivate you to keep pushing. Just keep in mind, some indicators that you want to hop off of ranked to save progress or change your approach are…

1: A solid three stack is playing - friend one of them, and wait for them to get into a match and then you queue up after them

2: The team that you’re queuing up with synergy isn’t there. You can tell if things aren’t going right by hero’s that your team chooses and way (example: if someone picks Johnny jet, not as a flanker put solely to hold point, you’re on the wrong team.)

3:) Spirits are low, it’s time to go. People play at their worse when they have gotten beaten badly. Stay confident, chin up, and rotate to a fresh team

4:) If your teammates refuse to make smart choices, you have two options, either tell them and hope they make the adjustment or….rotate. (Smart choices as in picking up the big three 1 tank, 1 DPS, 1 support as recommended)

These are just a few things that can reinforce your rank progress. Don’t get frustrated, the more games in ranked the better. Just keep your head down and push.
