When it comes to Zombie Survival games, I could never really get into most of them because, in my opinion, the majority of them require a time investment that is way too long to make it through the early game, let alone to make steady and good progress.

I can definitely see why so many people enjoy a game like Project Zomboid, although perhaps not the full scope of it. If you were to imagine a game like that from a top-down perspective, you would get Terminus, which is a turn-based roguelike zombie survival game. In this game, you would be rummaging through hundreds of different locations all randomized in an attempt to reach the final stronghold for mankind while simultaneously experiencing a struggle to survive along the way. Craft, build and survive through the days.
