Kingdom: The Blood turns Netflix’s hit Korean zombie show into a shallow action game

SHOULD I PLAY KINGDOM: THE BLOOD? If you’re a huge fan of Netflix’s Kingdom and are looking for a lightweight, grindy action game, this one might be worth checking out. Kingdom: The Blood adapts the mix of historical thriller and zombie horror from that streaming series into a fairly basic action game where you move through levels slicing up zombies, performing combos, and taking on powerful bosses. What’s here isn’t bad by any means, but it feels very stripped-down and bare-bones at the moment, so if you’re interested in something deeper, it may leave you wanting.

Animal Crossing with Disney characters? Disney Dreamlight Valley is laid-back, fan service fun

SHOULD I PLAY DISNEY DREAMLIGHT VALLEY? Disney fans should definitely check it out, especially if they like quest-filled crafting and gathering games like Animal Crossing. Dreamlight Valley is a life sim set in a fantasy world where characters from various Disney franchises live side by side—or at least, they used to. The land has been struck by a curse called the Forgetting, and its inhabitants have either lost their memories or disappeared from the realm entirely. It’s your job to break this curse and bring the valley back to life.

Ready Player One, definitely! That movie is definitely dope and there's nothing better than making a video game out of a movie that is based on a game. All of the steps taken by the protagonist could be made into separate chapters, each with it's own mission objective. Like the movie itself, it shall have different quests that the player needs to go on to ultimately reach the final quest of getting the Golden Egg.

The superhero era is dead, and video games are taking their place

I’m going to go ahead and double down when I said that Five Nights at Freddy’s was the worst movie I’ve seen in 2023. My opinion is damn sure not going to change anytime soon, but I can’t deny that audiences showed up and made it one of the most successful video game film adaptations of all time. Just compare the performance of Five Nights at Freddy’s to that of Disney’s latest superhero epic, The Marvels

The latest upcoming Fate title is an action-packed RPG with katana-wielding samurais and monsters

Fate/Samurai Remnant is Koei Tecmo's upcoming action RPG and one of the latest developments in Type-Moon's Fate series. Unlike previous installments, Fate/Samurai Remnant takes place further in the past during the Edo period in the mid-17th century, and features traditional Japanese themes and styles. As someone that's watched the anime series from time to time, I'm particularly interested in how this game will build on the Fate series and what combat could be like in the Edo period. I think the visuals are pretty cool too. The vibrant colors mixed with the anime-style look, makes the game appealing but not too far from any of the other Fate games or shows.

One of the worst Lord of the Rings games ever made - The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Skip it. The only situation in which I can see The Lord of the Rings: Gollum being worth playing is if you’re getting a bunch of friends together to laugh at a game that is so misguided and poorly designed that it’s genuinely pretty funny. The idea of making a game based on The Lord of the Rings franchise’s most pathetic, tragic character is questionable to begin with, but if there’s a way to pull it off, the developers at Daedalic Entertainment have not found it. As is,

Hellboy Web of Wyrd could be the perfect comic book game if it wasn't such a chore to play

SHOULD I PLAY HELLBOY WEB OF WYRD? If you’re not a die-hard Hellboy fan, you should probably skip this one. Hellboy Web of Wyrd looks like a B.P.R.D. comic brought to life. It’s got spectacular visuals and excellent voice acting (including a lead performance from the late, great Lance Reddick), but it’s just not very fun to play. The sluggish combat and buggy gameplay sapped most of the fun out this game.

Experience the original Star Wars first-person shooter in a shiny new form with Dark Forces Remaster

A long time ago (1995) in a galaxy far, far away (the basement den where I convinced my mom to set up her Windows 95 PC), I spent an awful lot of time playing Star Wars: Dark Forces. As a certified dork who loved the Star Wars movies and equally loved the fast-paced shooting action of Doom, a game that blended the two was like a dream come true. Of course, games have changed a lot in the nearly thirty years since Dark Forces first came out, which is why I'm so excited to see it getting a new and improved release. Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster comes to us from the retro masters at Nightdive Studios, whose updates of older games have included classics like

Avatar The Last Airbender would be awesome! It would play like an open world RPG and you would collect different abilities over the course of the game and upgrade your skills.

Clash Royale meets Hogwarts Legacy in a magical new game - Harry Potter: Magic Awakened Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it. Harry Potter: Magic Awakened explores the Harry Potter universe in a new and refreshing light. It merges roguelike deckbuilding with some familiar RPG elements like questing and exploration, while also offering an entirely new and charming storyline filled with easter eggs and memorable characters. TIME PLAYED I played Harry Potter: Magic Awakened for four hours. I managed to get pretty far in the storyline, completing twenty-some quests and unlocking more than thirty cards. I’ve also passed bronze rank in the game’s solo dueling feature and reached the top three hundred on the Australian server leaderboard.

Remember Stargate? It's back—in real-time tactical game form!

For a certain type of dorky kid growing up in the '90s, the Stargate franchise was a formative gateway into goofy-yet-fun, low-budget sci-fi adventures. Beginning with the 1994 movie Stargate, the series quickly expanded out into multiple TV shows, comics, cartoons, books, and yes, video games. And while there hasn't been much going on with this IP in recent years, that's finally changing this week, as an all-new Stargate game has just launched...and you can even play the first mission for free.

I know there are already games based on this franchise, but we need a proper PROPER Tron game, definitely based sometime after Tron: Uprising. Imagine having an open world with diverse character customization allowing you to edit every detail about your program from their looks to their job, their speciality and allegiance and have an immersive story that lets you join or fight against the uprising started by Beck and Tron with a diverse range of missions from destroying the Occupations supply routes to capturing rogue programs, you get the point.

But send to another dimension to play games of life and death .. to survive to end is goal Each game like series diff . Five ways to save the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie from sucking

It’s no secret that Five Nights at Freddy’s was one of the worst films I had the displeasure of viewing in 2023. It was boring and humorless, and worst of all, there weren’t nearly enough murderous animatronics causing mayhem. However, I’ve always said knowing your audience when it comes to adapted properties is essential. Fans of the series showed up to make it one of the most successful movies of last year.

Marvel Snap's new Conquest mode gives hardcore players a more intense challenge

This week Marvel Snap received arguably its biggest update since launching last year. In this major patch, developer Second Dinner introduced the game's first new competitive mode, known as Conquest. While I've spent well over a hundred hours playing games of Marvel Snap in its traditional mode and building my collection, I was excited to see what a new mode would look like. After spending several hours with Conquest mode tonight, I can confirm that it's an awful lot of fun, especially for players who are already deeply invested in the game, even if it's nothing

Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law in this buzzy new RoboCop game

Games based movies don't have a great track record. Games based on beloved '80s action films? Even sketchier. But against all odds, RoboCop: Rogue City seems like it might actually be great. It helps that Polish developer Teyon is also known for its work on 2019's Terminator: Resistance, which carries a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Clearly this studio has a lot of love for the classics! We were still skeptical about RoboCop: Rogue City, but it ended up being

If you want a series that changes the way you look at life, learn to value the simple things, this series is perfect! I never imagined that one day, I would be able to watch something and "surf" in different emotions every minute of every episode. It's just amazing. I wanted the game, telling a story like the series, where we would be DEREK and we would have the opportunity to make choices and follow several different paths.

The new Avatar game is basically Far Cry on an alien planet...and that kind of rules

SHOULD I PLAY AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA? Yes! If you’ve enjoyed either of the two movies released so far in James Cameron’s epic sci-fi film franchise, then Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is well worth checking out. And even if you didn’t dig the movies, there’s a good chance you’ll find something to like with this video game adaptation, which tells its own story set on the same world and incorporates a lot of traditional Ubisoft open-world gameplay. The result is something that feels similar to a
