What list of military games would be complete without one inspired by the legend himself, Tom Clancy? There are so many out there worth mentioning, but Rainbow Six has a special place in my heart. Based on the novel of the same name Rainbow Six is a tactical FPS that introduces players to the elite counter-terrorism unit known as Rainbow. You're tasked with leading a team to neutralize various terrorist threats worldwide and was probably the first shooter I played of this type that emphasized careful planning, hostage rescues, and close-quarters combat. In recent years the series has moved beyond human combatants to include aliens, but I'm not mad at that fact at all. Rainbow Six will always be one of those titles I can easily jump into and have a blast.

Speaking of aliens, it's completely fair to have a sci-fi first-person shooter series on this list, and very few have I spent as many hours on as Halo. Back in college, this was the game people would spend all weekend on and battle against each other. The series began with Halo: Combat Evolved, introducing players to the character of Master Chief, a supersoldier known as a Spartan. Players assume the role of Master Chief as he battles against the Covenant, an alliance of alien species, on a ring-shaped structure known as Halo. The game's mix of intense combat, immersive world-building, and compelling narrative quickly gained a massive following, and today, there's even a TV series of the same name.

Battlefield is one of those titles I admittedly got into late in the game. What I liked about the 2016 release was that it focused on WW1, including a catalog of historical weaponry like trench clubs, which I had no idea was even a thing until I played the game. That, combined with the large open landscapes, meant there were various ways to complete objectives, and the multiplayer battles meant you could drag a buddy along for the ride.

Of course, I had to include the reigning king of the genre on this list, and for a good reason. A series only lasts for twenty years unless it's managed to push its boundaries and incorporate new ways to engage its audience. With the recent release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2.0, and the upcoming global release of Warzone Mobile, this juggernaut isn't slowing down any time soon. With its high-octane action, immersive storytelling, addictive multiplayer experiences, and zombies... freaking zombies it definitely has earned its spot at the top of the list.

poeple are sad for battlefield being cancelled? tbh am happy cuz it was nothing like battlefield. battlefield is about atleast hundred player's in each server, playing in atleast a medium sized map, planes fighting in sky, tanks on land, boats on water. we've seen other game somewhat achieve it but they never tried to make it into a mobile battlefield idk why. but when they did, they f**ked it up.
