Roto Force is a new 2D bullet hell action game. You play as a slug trapped inside a shape (square or circle) and must bounce around the edges and shoot enemies. The game has 9 different weapons for you to use each with its own play style. The game has tons of boss battles that will challenge you hand eye coordination. Roto Force really feels like an old school hardcore arcade game. The graphics are simplistic with reach level having no more than 4 colors. The shape you are in will spin as you move and bounce from one end to the other. This is a fun idea but for those sensitive to so much motion it can make you feel a little dizzy at times.
The game has very simple controls and can be used with touch screen, mouse and/or keyboard, and a controller. The audio was a bit annoying for me and just too much. The background sounds often would just repeat themselves over and over again. The sound effects from all the action can be a bit overwhelming as well. Although I had fun playing the game, it does feel like sensory overload when things start to get super chaotic in the later stages.
Also can be difficult to see the enemies or even identify what the objects are in the game. The graphics are so old school 8 bit style that the text and enemies just look like blobs of color with no details or definition. The gameplay is fun but I don't think this game will be for everyone. Its kind of a hit or miss for most people. You either will love this game or hate it.
