I found a really fun Digimon game yesterday!
As you can probably guess from the title, the game in question is a Digimon game (only for PC, unfortunately) with Smash Bros. elements! It's called:
The game is still being worked on, but there's a lot, and I really mean A LOT, of stuff to do and unlock in the game.
New Playable 'mons and evolutions
New Arcade, optional and event levels
New stages
Up to 8 new alt. colors for your Digimons
...are among the many things you can unlock.
On top of that, from what I read, there's always a new, time limited Digimon that can be obtained with every update. As soon as you update the game to a new version, the current special Digimon won't be available anymore and a new special Digimon will take its place, so you better get them before you update the game! On the page linked above, the dev said that those Digimons will be back eventually. But when? That I dunno.
👾 The Character Selection Screen 👾
Let's start with the character selection screen, shall we?
As you can see in the picture above, there's a LOT of stuff on there and I'm not just talking about the Playable Digimons!
I started playing this game yesterday, so I don't know everything, but I'll try to explain as many things as I can.
-The playable characters, A.K.A. the Digimons
The grid at the bottom of the picture seen above is the list of playable Digimons.
If I remember correctly, when you start the game, only the second line from the top + the 4 first Digimons on the third line are unlocked. As you progress through the arcade stages, more and more 'mons will unlock! Some stages unlock the Digimons you see on the grid while other stages will unlock evolutions/forms for a Digimon.
(Do note that there are many, many other ways to unlock Digimons. Clearing Arcade stages isn't the only way.)
You can see an example of said evolutions in the picture above. One of my favorite 'mons, Keramon, can evolve into either Diablomon or Algomon, depending on which form I choose. Also, you don't see it in the picture, but instead of choosing Keramon, you can choose one of its two evolutions and once in battle, it can evolve even further!
-Alt. Colors
The window that appears after choosing the Digimon's form is a list of alternative colors that we can choose for that Digimon. The Digimon's original color is selected by default. I unlocked most of the colors for Keramon and its evolutions, but I still need to unlock 2 more. The 9th color is supposedly a golden alt. color while the 10th color is a... digital color? Don't ask me what that is, because I have no freakin' idea!
-Digimon Stats
Now let's look at the top-middle part of the first picture. Those are the stats of both Digimons.
The Attack & Defense stats should be self-explanatory, but just in case:
Attack stat: The higher the Attack stat, the more damage the 'mon will deal.
Defense stat: The higher the Defense stat, the less damage the 'mon will receive.
I'm not sure about the other 2 stats though, but here are my guesses:
Speed stat: It affects a Digimon's movement speed? Their normal attack speed, maybe? Or perhaps it affects skill cooldowns? (More about skills later)
Jump stat: It affects jump height? Or maybe the higher the jump stat, the more jumps the Digimon can do?
From what I've seen so far, S seems to be the highest rating a stat can get while E being the lowest.
As for the Weight stat, since this game has Smash Bros. elements in it, I'm guessing it has something to do with skills and how far they can send a Digimon flying. Using a powerful skill on a "light" Digimon might send them flying pretty far away, but if the same skill was instead used on a "heavy" Digimon, the effect wouldn't be as strong. Something like that? I hope that made sense...
-Digimon Types
Next, between both Digimons' stats, we have the "Victories 0-0" text. This shouldn't need an explanation, so let's look at what's right under it: The Digimon Types.
Vaccine is strong VS Virus
Virus is strong VS Data
Data is strong VS Vaccine
Again, I'm not sure what this does, but I'm guessing it works the same way as in every other game out there. For example, Vaccine 'mons will deal more damage to Virus 'mons and etc.
Depending on the mode you're in, another window might appear after you chose the color of your Digimon. It will let you choose the stage you wanna fight on and also the music you wanna hear during the fight. If you're playing the arcade mode, this window will not appear. Instead, you'll immediately go in battle.
Aaaaaand... That should be it for the character selection screen.
Next! The actual battles!
⚔️ The Battles ⚔️
-The basics
You start every level on a platform, the player on the left and the NPC on the right and you duke-mon it out until only one Digimon remains!
...Sorry for the stupid pun. I couldn't help it.
Please look at this screenshot:
At the bottom of the screen, there's the Digimons' portrait on both sides of the screen and on top of them, you can see the 'mon's name and type.
Next to the portrait of the Digimons, can you see the little "S" icons? Those are the Skills of your Digimon. Each digimon has 4 skills and when they use one, the corresponding icon will turn gray. The cooldown of most skills is pretty short, so you can do some pretty sweet combos!
Below the portrait of the digimons, we have that 'mon's life bar and right above it is the evolution bar. Fill it up by either hitting the enemy or by getting hit and when it's full, you can evolve your Digimon!
-The Stages
Some stages don't have stage hazards and other effects (The stage in the picture above is one of them), but most do. One of the stages I hate the most in this game is the ice stage. The stage is covered in ice (duh!), so instead of walking normally, the Digimons will slide. Using skills that make your Digimon ram the opponent or skills that make your Digimon run torwards them should be avoided at all costs! If you miss your opponent, it's almost certain that you'll fall off the stage. When that happens, forget trying to get back on a platform! Your Digimon will immediately freeze solid and fall down.
When you fall off a stage, your Digimon will immediately respawn on a fixed spot on the stage and you'll lose a small portion of your life bar, so be careful!
Another thing I hate about the ice stage is all those annoying ice crystals that appear a bit everywhere. Some of them will spawn directly on the floor while others will spawn above the ground. If you walk under them, they'll immediately fall on you! If you somehow manage to avoid them, they'll stay on the ground and wait for their next victim!
Of course, stages also have items that the Digimons can use. To take an item, you simply need to attack it with a normal attack. Some items, like the "meat on the bone" thingy you often see in animes, will restore a small portion of a Digimon's health bar.
The other items look like cards and have various effects. One of them will completely fill the 'mon's evolution bar and they'll evolve immediately. If the Digimon is already transformed, the card will completely refill the evolution bar.
Another card will inflict the confusion effect upon taking it. A confused Digimon will have its controls reversed. If you tell it to go right, it'll go left and if you tell it to go left, it'll go right.
Two cards that I often tell my Digimon to take are fire cards. One is blue and the other is orange. I don't know if they have different effects, but to use them, you just need to attack your opponent with a normal attack. Doing so will throw a ball of fire towards the opponent and damage them.
Other cards exist as well, but I still haven't figured out what kind of effects they have.
-Multiplayer
Oh yeah! I almost forgot! This game also has a couch co-op feature! If you wanna have a fun Digimon fight with your roommate, a friend or even with your family, you can!
You can choose between 1V1 or 3V3. Sadly, the 3v3 isn't a battle royale. When one 'mon is defeated, the next one takes its place. When all 3 are kaput, the other player wins.
In the link that I shared at the beginning of this post, the dev mentioned something about using a 3rd party program to play online against other Digimon Rumble Arena Fangame players, but I have NO IDEA how to set up or use that program, so if you need help with that, I suggest asking elsewhere because I won't be able to help you.
⚙️ Options ⚙️
This game has a bunch of neat options!
You can change the quality of the graphics, the screen size, the volume, the controls,
watch the credits and all the usual stuff.
You can also choose how many rounds a battle will have!
Do you want to beat your opponent and start the next stage right away?
Choose 1 Round.
Do you prefer giving your opponent a chance?
Choose 3 Rounds.
If you win 2 rounds out of 3, you win!
Oho? You're feeling super sadistic today? Hmm... I see, I see!
In that case, I suggest choosing either 5 Rounds or even 7 Rounds!
Take all your sweet time to torture your opponent! Mwahahaha!!! 😈😈
Wanna turn the timer and all those annoying stage hazards off? Well, you can!
Wanna remove all the items? You can do that too!
Do you want to make the game insanely hard? Increase both the difficulty and the damage dealt to the max!
Those are all nice options of course, but my favorite is the option that let us switch between the EN Digimon names and the JP Digimon names! It's a shame that we'll probably never get an option like this in official games. I always watch animes in JP, so being stuck with the EN names when I play a Digimon game is confusing as heck! 😵
Lastly, we have the password option. Any password you find during your playthrough should be entered here. So far, I was able to discover only one password and it unlocked a super difficult level! The level in question is a fight VS NoblePumpmon. The bast*rd is pretty strong, but what makes this level truly difficult is the stage itself and the stage hazard. There are exploding pumpkins EVERYWHERE!! Turning off the stage hazard in the options does nothing for this level. Same for the difficulty. Lowering it does nothing. 😭😭
Meh, doesn't matter! I'll just keep practicing by doing other stages and one day I'll be able to kick his orange bu*t! Just you wait, you darn pumpkin!! Hehehe.... 😈
🏁 Conclusion 🏁
There's a bunch of things I haven't talked about and other things that I probably forgot to mention. If you want a better idea of how the game is, just download and play the darn thing! You won't regret it, trust me! 😁

The art style looks decent so I'll try it. And I don't know why you blocked me on my main account, but I'm sorry for whatever it is that I did. What do you say? Think we can be friends again?
