This particular rumor was kicked off following a discovery on an Art Station profile belonging to a Lighting and Technical Artist at Undead Labs.
On this profile, it said that the game would drop in 2027 – and since that claim came to light, the artist has removed the reference from their profile.

Game supposed to be out in 2022, no news since then so I don't expect to see it realease anymore. There is literally no info at all. Seems great but expectations to see this coming one day is very low.

about 9 years after SoD2. i loved SoD2 and i always return to it when i feel like surviving in a zombie apocalypse. it's a long wait but as long as they actually take their time to develop the game and add stuff that will make the game really great. it's worth the wait
