The moment you start One Punch Man World, it’s like reliving all the best moments of season 1, except now you’re directly involved in the action. We get to see some iconic set pieces that line up closely with that legendary first season, and to actually take part in it all is a big treat.
On top of that, One Punch Man World’s gameplay and animations are spectacular. I did not have high expectations heading into it, but after getting a taste of OPM World’s combat, I’m a changed man.
Fighting is fast-paced and combo-heavy, which is my idea of a happy place. You take on missions with your squad of up to four heroes and try to get the best possible clear rank you can.
All characters play super differently from each other, all of them with their own gimmicks that are fun to learn thanks to the game’s combo tutorial system, something the developers included to help you gain a better understanding of the heroes your fielding. If the game can make a Hero like Smile Man of all Heroes fun and interesting to play, they’re definitely doing something right.
