According to its developers, Tarisland is a non-pay-to-win MMORPG that aims to bring players a World of Warcraft-like game to mobile devices everywhere.
With 9 different classes you can choose from, ranging from classics like Priest and Mage to non-traditional like Phantom Necro, you will surely have a class that suits your taste.
After playing the game, I can say that Tarisland is not as hardcore as its console/PC counterparts. Still class building and speccing is pretty simple yet intuitive. It may not have as high of a ceiling in terms of skill and data crunching as other MMORPGs, but Tarisland’s straightforward nature lends itself well to the mobile platform.
In terms of gameplay, Tarisland is decent fun. Players tackle main quests and side quests just like they would in mainstream MMOs, and Tarisland offers the boon of having multiplayer seep into other aspects of its content.
Combat is like any other MMO. You have a standard class attack and other abilities that are tied to cooldowns and must be used judiciously to overcome the tougher foes you will eventually face.
What isn’t so enjoyable is the lack of polish in certain aspects of the game’s presentation. Voice lines sometimes do not sync with on-screen animations and the game has a habit of resizing itself incorrectly depending on the phone’s screen.
The game does look promising. Hopefully, Tarisland can keep whatever promises it has made so far down the line to its full release.
