That September, footage from unfinished versions was leaked online in what journalists described as one of the biggest leaks in the history of the video game industry. The game was formally revealed in December 2023 and is scheduled to be released in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

It's finally happening! Grand Theft Auto VI's first trailer will be revealed next month
Following a frenzied series of rumors earlier today, Rockstar Games confirmed on its Twitter account that, yes, no joke, Grand Theft Auto VI is finally coming. While major details were not yet revealed, the studio said it will debut the trailer for one of the most anticipated games of all time in early December 2023.
That timing also happens to coincide with Rockstar's twenty-fifth anniversary. Heck of a way to celebrate! The trailer announcement was delivered by Sam Houser, one of the founders of Rockstar and the company's current president.
