SHOULD I PLAY GIGBASH?
If you love arena fighters, like Super Smash Bros. and Power Stone, or if you’re into kaiju monsters and games like Rampage, then GigaBash is exactly the title you’ve been waiting for. Some games require you to think and strategize, but GigaBash is a good old-fashioned smash ’em up. It’s all about causing as much chaos as possible, which is exactly why it’s so much fun to play. I spent around three hours playing GigaBash on my PC. I tested many different kaiju and robots and fought across all of the modes and stages available to play on the demo version.
WHAT’S AWESOME ABOUT GIGABASH?
• Utter destruction. You know it, and I know it. Half the fun of kaiju media like Godzilla is witnessing the devastation brought down by these massive creatures, and GigaBash delivers in this arena. I had so much fun smashing down buildings, hurling rocks, launching rockets, and using the surrounding environmental elements to turn the tide of a match. The chaos sometimes ramped up to such level that I had trouble focusing on actually taking down my enemies, but it was still incredibly satisfying. The game succeeded in making me feel like I was an unstoppable kaiju beast. • A great selection of kaiju, mechs, and titans. The beasts of GigaBash have had a lot of imagination go into their creation. While these are technically unique characters, there’s also a great sense of nostalgia. For example, playing as Thundatros felt like being the Megazord right out of Power Rangers. He even wields a massive sword! Each of the characters also comes with their own special moves and in-battle upgrades, so there was plenty to keep me glued to my screen. • Everything look awesome. GigaBash’s graphics look great, and everything ran smoothly even on my older laptop. Each monster has a unique design, each of which is colorful, vibrant, and boosted by excellent animation. Watching the little people run around in a panic as I battled a giant yeti really added to the chaos.
• Playing with buddies. GigaBash is absolutely built for multiplayer. This would be the perfect game at a party or if you just want to spend time with some friends without doing anything too brain-intensive.
WHAT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT IN GIGABASH?
• The controls. If you’re planning to play this on PC, you need to get a controller. GigaBash allowed me to set up the keyboard controls however I wanted, but it’s clear that it was designed for a controller. Trying to control my kaiju with the WASD keys was just a nightmare.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO PLAY ON THE CLOUD?
I honestly preferred playing the cloud version of GigaBash on my iPhone 13 as compared to playing it on PC. The control scheme was much smoother than on PC, especially when it came to moving and attacking. That said, a controller is still essential to playing this game in the ideal way.
