5️⃣ Player Agency: They typically offer multiple ways to approach objectives, allowing players to exercise creativity and problem-solving skills.

5️⃣ Directionless: Players may feel lost or unsure of what to do next in open-world games without clear guidance or objectives, leading to frustration.

I couldn't help but agree with most of your points. Those are strong yet obvious factors hard to miss. Even though Open World genre is the king of gaming entertainment, such games can be heavily time consuming. You need a ton of work & resources investment, as well as map exploration to experience such games in their true nature. This is why nowadays I don't easily dare entering an open world game without some mental preparation having fear that I might get addicted or it would distract me from real life affairs. For busy people this genre can be both a curse and a relief from stress at the same time. I have two amazing open world games installed in my phone device currently : Earth Revival and WuWa , but I feel guilty sometimes not being able to invest enough time in those. And on PC, I still play Skyrim, Saints Row and Fallout games to this very day ~

Author likedThank you 💜. With all the attention Wuthering Waves is getting and its controversial comparison to Genshin, I thought it was important to mention some of these issues. I don't think you're the only one either, I spoke to a lot of the Genshin and WuWa community before making this post to make sure I was getting the facts. They all mentioned the subconscious pressure or guilt in not dedicating a certain amount of time to the game in comparison to other people. I think the beauty of open world is that I can go as fast or slow as I want because its predominantly single player, and I only hope that the community doesn't feel pressured
