Mindustry is a 2017 game that offers a seamless mix of the RTS, tower defense and factory management genres at once. It's being constantly updated by its game developer, Anuken.
❖ Basics of the game:
Your mission is to reach unhabitable planets to gather resources, capture sectors and protect your bases from your overly aggressive neighbors.
The progression of the game allows you to easily learn the functions of each contraption. Use your management and strategic skills to master the game and conquer a whole planet.
❖ Two different options for different tastes:
Mindustry offers two planets with their own unique structures, enemies and gameplay. You can switch between these at any time.
Serpulo offers a more conventional tower defense experience where you'll have to survive through a set number of enemy waves.
On the other hand, Erekir relies more on the offensive elements of the game, sending endless waves of enemies towards your base until you locate and destroy theirs.
Both come with surprises, so don't think about slacking off.
❖ Customization and multiplayer:
Create your own maps using the game's editing tools and change its rules to your liking. You can use these custom maps to play on your own or let others play with you thanks to the servers. If being the host isn't your thing, you can always join other player's servers.
The game has a surprisingly active and friendly community. Don't be afraid to join the official Discord and follow the game's development!
❖ In-game modding support:
Mindustry's user-made mods can add new content, enhance preexisting functions, or make your life easier (We won't judge you for it).
❖ Conclusion:
Mindustry is a fun game that has more to it than the eye can meet. As of writing this article, there are plans to add a completely unique planet, new enemies, and cancer. I will not elaborate.
This game has no ads or in-game purchases, so please consider supporting its development!
