Currently there are only about 40% positive reviews out of eight thousand reviews. Back ten years ago, Steam was more like a Dota 2 and CS: GO launcher in 2013. Payday 3 is a co-op FPS that puts players in the shoes of a serial thief ready to make a killing. Developed by Overkill Software, Payday 3 is the newest entry in the series since Payday 2’s release back in 2013. Payday 3 has recently started its open beta test, giving players a taste of what’s to come and really stress test the game before it launches on September 21. PAYDAY 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver. It is the third installment in the popular coop game series PAYDAY. The game is set to be released on September 21, 2023, with a 3-day Early Access period for those who purchase the Silver and Gold editions. I had the opportunity to try out the game three days early and see how it holds up.

SHOULD I PLAY PAYDAY 3? We'll need to wait until Payday 3 launches in full next week to see if it's worth it because this past weekend's open beta was kind of messy. Payday 3 is a first-person shooter about robbing banks for cash, infiltrating areas for intel, and shooting cops. While the game looks and feels fantastic, the technical issues plaguing the test version made for a frustrating and occasionally straight-up unplayable experience.

I can't say I had a lot of fun playing this during Alpha, Beta, Testing, and even Early Access. It all felt stale and repetitive, with only a few superficial and familiar-looking maps and police swarms, something the Devs indicated they wanted to avoid. By no means am I claiming that it is a poor game. I understand the style of this game and the community that supports it. However, the way this game and their developers have handled the approach is just purely disappointing.

SHOULD I PLAY PAYDAY 3? Play it if you really like the Payday franchise, but be aware that it’s far from the best the series has been so far. Payday 3 has ironed out a few creases in its design since its rough technical beta test, but it still suffers from frustrating issues like slow matchmaking and lack of content. All those problems aside though, the game still provides some decent shooting and some good old-fashioned bank robbing.

Payday 3 is the latest entry in the series after 2013’s Payday 2, currently out on open beta, free for anyone to access. In true Payday fashion, you and your crew have multiple ways to take on this mission. You can stealthily weave your way into the bank’s infrastructure and steal the motherlode of cash right from under the bank’s nose. Or you can alert everyone on Planet Earth to your location by forgetting to suppress your pistol. But the charm of Payday is that both avenues are perfectly viable, just as long as you can get away with your booty.

Summary: Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers, and the nightmare of law enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew's reign of terror over Washington DC ended, they assembled again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement. Final Thoughts There are many new changes and add-ons to Payday 3, but the series fans probably see this as an excellent multiplayer game with friends. But thats is all I can see Hopefully, there are many new places to visit, open world level, or more challenging heists to experience!
