Put ALL my money into starting a Indie Studio
123 View2025-11-06I run a small IT consultant firm, and for the past 6 years we have been working with startups, medium clients and big clients. BUT, my dream is to run a indie studio, creating games that players love to play.
So we took a gamble... All the money we have earned from our consultant business we put into setting up a small indie studio to develop games about a year ago. We realeased two test games to teach the team about mobile development and for the past 6 months we have been working on our first "real" game. Monkey King - Legend of Heroes.
Since I love the lore of Sun Wukong, I knew I wanted to make a game with him as the main character. So we created a semi-idle RPG game with a mix of Tower Defense into it. You play as Sun Wukong and you summon the Chinese Zodiacs as Heroes to help you rid the land of Zombies.
What do you think, did I make the right decision following my heart or should I kept the profitable consultant business?
