Omega Strikers is in the arena and I’m ready to score some goals. If you’ve played Brawl Stars before, you might enjoy playing Omega Strikers. It’s a free-to-play three-versus-three soccer game with brawling elements currently available on PC, console, and mobile. I personally have been waiting for this game to release for the past month, so it’s been such a treat jumping into it and playing Omega Strikers these past few hours.
The game is actually really fun and quite pretty to look at. Omega Strikers is all about soccer but with a brutal twist. Players must hit a ball that appears in the center of a field at the start of the match and do all they can using basic attacks and abilities to score a goal. Depending on the game mode, winning can be as easy as scoring five goals or nine. The tricky part is that any player can use their abilities to hit enemies and blast them out of the arena, temporarily taking them out of the game until they respawn. Add in fifteen unique characters with various abilities, environmental hazards on each map, and a ton of different items to pick up before and during matches, and Omega Strikers provides a really unique yet challenging version of soccer to enjoy.
I personally had a lot of fun playing Omega Strikers alone in the mere two hours I’ve had it and I’ve loved using Estelle across my matches for her long-range abilities and explosive power. I’ve also really liked experimenting with different characters and item builds to see what worked and what didn’t. And although I played alone, it’s worth mentioning that since it’s a three-versus-three game, I can assemble a team of friends to play with in the future too. It makes it even easier to play with friends knowing that Omega Strikers supports cross-platform gameplay as well. This feature means that I can play with friends on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and even Android.
If that isn’t insane enough, what ‘till you hear this. Besides having beautiful visuals and anime-like characters, Omega Strikers is also voiced by a bunch of notable people in English and Japanese. For those that like anime, the Japanese voice actor for Zentaro is played by Natsuki Hanae, who voices Tanjiro Kamado in the Demon Slayer series, as well as Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul. And the English voice actor of Rasmus is none other than Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun, who’s a well-known YouTuber and member of the popular podcast, Trash Taste. I won’t spoil anymore, but there are a lot more voices in Omega Strikers and if you hear anything familiar, it might be exactly who it is. That said, the game is exceptional. It’s enjoyable, stunning, accessible, and really worth looking into if you like multiplayer games, anime, or soccer in general.
