In the world of Yōdanji, you can use your phone to capture yōkai, which are spirits inspired by Japanese folklore. At the start of each run, you’ll choose a creature and send them to explore a dungeon. As you explore, you’ll discover powerful magic scrolls, various treasures, and more yōkai!
Some roguelikes will keep you busy for hours, but Yōdanji is designed to be a “coffee break” game. Even if you just have a few minutes to play, you can dive in and send your favorite monster on an adventure.

Even though 1 Bit Survivor takes place during a zombie apocalypse, your main goal isn’t to fight the undead. Instead, you hope to escape the city and protect your beloved pet cat, Leo. Every day, you’ll search for gas and supplies while your kitty waits safely in your car.
Zombie-themed roguelikes are a dime a dozen, but 1 Bit Survivor’s sweet premise and minimalistic pixel graphics make it a standout title. Be warned: even though the basic mechanics is pretty simple, this game is much more challenging than it appears to be.

This inventive take on roguelike deck-builders takes RNG to a whole new level. Not only does Dicey Dungeons swap out cards for dice, but all of the playable characters are dice! Each character class has a unique playstyle, which keeps the game feeling fresh.
When you play as the Inventor, you toss out cards after each battle so that you can build new equipment. The Witch can assign spell slots to each side of the die, but she can only hold six spells at the same time. No matter which class you play as, the clever writing and challenging battles make Dicey Dungeons a blast!

Life as a lizard isn’t easy, even when you’re a bounty hunter (in space). In this turn-based roguelike, you play as a lizard-person who’s down on his luck after getting sucked into a knife-selling pyramid scheme. Now, he’s on a quest to collect bounties, score cash, and rebuild his shattered life.
While your lizard does have guns, his weapon of choice is bombs! You can take down targets by placing bombs or throwing them across the map. It’s like a cross between a roguelike and Bomberman!

Lots of roguelikes are inspired by chess, but Pawnbarian kicks things up a notch. Instead of controlling a collection of pieces, you’ll move a single piece across a chess board, taking down anything that gets in your way.
There are three playable characters to choose from, including the ferocious Pawnbarian and the Templar, who can rack up extra turns with clever gameplay. If you love the challenge of chess, but wish it was a little more fast-paced, Pawnbarian offers an exciting and elegant take on this classic game.

How fast are your reflexes? This minimalist roguelike has battles that test your reaction time. You’ll need to watch your enemies closely so that you can dodge their attacks before they have a chance to strike.
The swipe-based gameplay in Tainted Treasure is addictive, but what really makes this game shine is its soundtrack. Not only are the tunes catchy, but the music adapts to match the speed of your opponents. If you crank up the volume and tap your foot to the beat, you’ll be able to perfectly time all of your attacks.

Set in an alternate version of the 1920s, this Lovecraftian card game revolves around storytelling. You begin with a single card, but you’ll eventually accumulate a massive deck that you can use to fend off ailments, attract followers, and unravel mysteries.
Cultist Simulator can feel a little overwhelming at first, but once you figure out the basics, you can use your cards to weave a narrative that’s entirely your own. Maybe you’ll kill your rivals and turn them into errand-running zombies, or maybe you’ll agree to be a sacrifice to an elder god. Your fate lies in the cards and in your imagination.
