What mother doesn't deserve to put on a cape and fly freely? This one isn't exactly multiplayer, but it's definitely mom appropriate. In Laya's Horizon, you take control of Laya, who's just received her very first cape. This allows her to fly freely over mountains, rivers, and forests as if you were wearing a wingsuit. The controls take a bit to master. However, once you've got it, the vast open world is the perfect setting for relaxing and soaring across the skies. I especially recommend this one for the stressed mommas out there.

Aptly named and maybe a hint for improving your relationship with your mom. Keep Talking, and Nobody Explodes is a cooperative game where your goal is to... well... not explode. This is the perfect party game; one person has the manual while the other is frantically trying to defuse a bomb within the time limit. What I like about the mobile version is that you only need one person to have the game. You can airdrop the manual so two (or more) people can play while the other defuses. The perfect gift to work out those communication issues.

My colleague Ndi put me onto this one, and I'm so glad she did! Don't you just love it when a game reminds you that gaming is an art that'll make you feel all kinds of emotions and feelings? This is especially true in Sky: Children of Light, where you play as voiceless spirits. There's no way to text or communicate with other players, instead relying on various gestures to indicate your message. Seriously, it's heartwarming. People can even hold hands and exchange butterflies. It might be a big ask for a game to ask its players to derive their own meaning from subtle interactions, but hey! This one is free to play, and the in-game purchases aren't invasive. Definitely best for the ones who want to work on non-verbal communication with the mom. Oh, and wear headphones for this one. The music is incredible.

Some of you may be asking what a spooky puzzler has to do with Mother's Day? Well, to your question, there are mom's out there that love the scares no matter what time of the year! I spoke about this one a few months ago, and my feelings haven't changed. This spooky puzzler requires two people to each have copies of the game, and it really got me invested with its captivating narrative that takes place in the past and future simultaneously. This one I highly recommend for the mom that is a fan of the spooky/Sci-Fi.

If your mom could transform into a horse and run around the open field, would mom take the chance? If you can't answer that, then you haven't been playing Wilderless. No enemies, no dungeons, just a beautiful open world to explore... not to mention you can shape-shift into a variety of cool animals like a hawk and explore the world from that perspective. If Seinfeld was the perfect show about nothing, this might be the game equivalent, definitely for the mom that enjoys the simple pleasures in life.
