Ace Racer F2P POV
3K View2023-07-26I’m an F2P player in this game, driver level is at 170+, and since then had relied on events for cars plus items. Here’s what I’ve noted so far:
•Lack of Speedsters
Unless you won’t pay, you’ll get so-so speedsters. You won’t be able to get limited or brand speedsters (which can cost a lot of money to obtain them at gacha) and upgrading them can cost quite a LOT. The most decent speedsters I have would be the Blade and Porsche 911, and the Porsche can’t even bring enough wins for you.
•Supporters and Interceptors
Trust me, you’ll get a lot of decent supporters and interceptors even without spending real money. Some noteworthy vehicles would be the Singularity (personal fave) and the BMWi8. BMW vehicles works quite well for some maps, and the Ford’s intercepting skills can destroy a whole lot of the other side’s momentum. Sometimes though, I’ve witnessed these two car roles to even surpass paid speedsters (in terms of match ranking).
•Outfits
Recently, the game released outfits with seriously cool animations and accessories. They’re also paid. So unless you don’t want boring outfits without cool effects, pay.
•Car Wraps and Rims
Events can give you blue or purple wraps, but the yellow ones are paid (these ones have effects).
•Car Items (Parts and ECUs)
I obtained most of these during events and store purchases (using in-game currency), and most of the time in ticket gachas. My advice: just play a lot of matches.
OVERALL:
You can still enjoy the game without paying. Events are fun to complete, and what are matches without some thrill from P2W players? They’re fast, who doesn’t want to play with someone who’s really fast? They can even give you an advantage at winning a match.

So I've been playing this game for a while now, and no this is NOT the global version yet, it's the official Taiwan/China release. I mostly rely on google translate just to understand the UI and everything else.
Aside from that, it's a solid hybrid of realistic/arcade-ish racing sim. Why is it hybrid? The controls and handling are what you'd find on an actual racing sim, where turning, braking, and drifting requires proper timing and angles. Races are sanctioned and offical with actual race tracks. The upgrade and modification system is where the arcade-ish part comes it, it's pretty simple and doesn't have that much tuning options. It's as simple as when your car is maxed out in drifting and turning, then than car's handling becomes significantly easier (becomes almost the same as the handling of modern NFS games). It's all about upgrading and collecting upgrade parts, that's pretty much it.

BecauseI have been playing since the very first opening and it is still an absolute norm for developers to leave the game for donators, if you want to have a fast car and upgrades ECU plan lvl 10 gold, then you only have to donate, but play for free and win in ranked matches against donators who have level 10 golden ECU and crooked hands, you will still lose, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to upgrade all cars completely without donation. Without a donation, you will not get enough of the right amount of improvements for your car. Therefore, playing p2p, p2w and being king in the ranking and 800 games on the speedster, I officially declare this

OVERALL GAME RATINGS - the great style of ACE RACER
Ace Racer is a really well made game, that's why and my ratings:
-ENTERTAINMENT: 9/10, there are many things you can do at the same time, the important is that there are never too many of them to keep everything balanced.
-REWARDS: 8,5/10, you can get resources from many sources like car proficiency levels with the training plan, handbook, events, shop, pass and gold pass.
-MATCHMAKING: 8,5/10, when you find yourself in the interface with the cars of all the other players, you never really know what to expect because the best one will be rewarded by a mix of factors: skills, nitro and turbo usage, car level and ECU plan. The ECU plan at low ranks is REALLY underrated because as you can see from my current best one, it adds A LOT to my car. It adds infinite variability to the race and is 100% approved.
