Echocalyspe: The Scarlet Covenant is a waifu-collector auto-battling gacha game that you probably can’t play in public and needs a better Google Play Store description.
Anyway, with the jokes aside, like its name suggests, Echocalypse takes place after the downfall of the world as we know it. People have been divided into various conflicting factions, each with their own beliefs, struggles, and kemono girls.
Its main gameplay loop is incredibly simple. You design a six-girl team and take on the many game modes Echocalypse has to offer. There’s a story mode, depth-diving mode, PvP, character lore mode, and much more. Though a lot of content is locked behind progress, leveling up your Permission level, this game’s main player leveling system, is rather easy.
When engaging in auto-battles, like its name suggests, your squad will automatically attack the opposing team with the skills they have at their disposal. This will need zero input from the player. Characters also build a rage bar that allows them to execute their personal special move. This will also be procc-ed automatically.
Though the game is very minimal in regards to player action, fights operate on a turn limit system. So, you still have to put SOME thought into crafting a team that not only has survivability in a fight, but also the firepower necessary to close the fight out.
That, however, is dictated by gacha. Echocalypse does have some player-friendly implementations in place to mitigate gacha-related frustration, like rerolls, free pulls, decency rates, and the like, but at the end of the day, this is just a bandaid for the infamous gacha systems in the current gaming trend.
Outside of this glaring issue in balance, Echocalypse is not bad. I will go as far as to say that it’s fun at times. It gives you a lot of incentive to play and the waifus aren’t all that bad on the eyes either. If you were looking for a waifu-collector like Nikke with less involving gameplay features, Echocalypse: The Scarlet Covenant might be the fix for you.
Just don’t play this out in public.
