This game is all about splashing around colorful ink using it to win matches. Splatoon features the most vibrant and vivid visuals in any shooter, and its bold colors and cartoonish characters are incredibly appealing to look at.

What makes Sky: Children of the Light so beautiful and breathtaking is its ability to use light details and heavy coloring to create an adventure full of emotional highs and lows. This uplifting open world game is the most beautiful mobile game I’ve ever played. The game tells its story elegantly, using its visuals to reveal important story details. As you progress, each area you visit gets more sinister and gloomy. It’s such a stunning game and it’s one I’d recommend everyone should try.

Ultros is definitely one of the most alien-looking and trippy games I’ve played so far. Designed by El Huervo, the artist behind Hotline Miami Ultros’ eccentric art style is a sight to behold. Every character and area in this Metroidvania looks completely unique. The game’s usage of color, texture, shading, and outlining help paint the picture of what an alien planet might look like, resulting in one of the most beautiful, bizarre worlds I’ve seen.

Monument Valley is a classic mobile puzzle game. This game’s usage of light colors and sharp objects and structures provides a lot of depth and contrast across all of its difficult puzzles, making them look distinctive. Moving structures around and rotating perspectives can dramatically change the game’s visuals, making for a refreshing experience.

Most people know Hi-Fi Rush for its electrifying music that bounces off walls and syncs with the flow of combat, but it’s also known for its comic book-esque art style. In this world of robots and technology, everything has a lot of detail. Not only are the backgrounds vivid, but each character looks colorful with shades of red, orange, blue, and yellow. The game’s cartoonish looks add to the appeal of its design and complements the action-packed fighting that comes with it.

Cocoon is the best adventure puzzle game I’ve played, and its vibrant, low-poly art style is stunning. Created by the mastermind behind two other beautiful games, Limbo and Inside, Cocoon is a bizarre puzzle game about traveling between worlds to find answers. Every environment, creature, and structure looks and feels unique to this game, and those distinctive designs are a big part of why I love Cocoon so much.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is probably one of the best Mario games in existence, and it’s also one of the most colorful and uniquely designed. This latest installation in the franchise has brought around an entirely new feel to the series. Each of the game’s seven worlds has its own unique theme, and individual levels have bold details that make them stand out. Wonder places 3D objects on 2D backgrounds, turning a traditional platformer into an eye-popping adventure.

Unlike some of the other games on this list, Ori and the Blind Forest doesn’t enchant a player with bright colors or bizarre art styles. Instead, it utilizes the subtlety of shadows to bring out the mysteriousness and magic of its world. This Metroidvania game uses its cool color tones and overlapping textures to highlight areas, items, and characters inside gloomy and dark environments. This game’s mastery of light manipulation not only adds depth to the adventure, but gives every environment a beautiful, peculiar look.

Although it’s a fairly short game, Florence’s beautiful visuals tell a gripping tale about a woman struggling with work, getting lost in social media, and finding love. The game’s intimate and raw setting is perfectly complemented by its cartoonish art style and pastel coloring. The end result is an experience that will leave players sobbing.
