Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting absolutely destroyed on Steam, with a 'Mostly Negative' rating

2K View2024-03-24
Game Reception: Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been released with over 13,000 user reviews on Steam, but it has received a “Mostly Negative” rating, with only 39% positive feedback.

Microtransactions Issue: Players are unhappy with the microtransactions in the game, which are seen as unnecessary and give the impression that players need to spend money on items that can be easily found in-game.

Performance Problems: The game has been criticized for poor optimization and high CPU load, with Capcom acknowledging the issues but not providing a timeline for improvements.
Despite the negative aspects, the game itself has been noted for its exceptional RPG elements, but the launch has been overshadowed by the controversy surrounding optional purchases and performance issues.
The devs need to know that Microtransactions can destroy a game come on we need a one buy  option to enjoy a full game.

DRAGON'S DOGMA 2 - THERE IS A REASON IT'S MOSTLY NEGATIVE *SPOILERS*
It's a regular trend, not for every game or developer, but it is quite prevalent to see an IP  released or, in some cases, revived after many years of silence when everything being shown should have been properly planned before its release. Dragons Dogma 2 feels rushed, or, for lack of a better term, Early Access. There are numerous game-breaking elements that you may encounter, such as being banned for erasing your save file to start over (which is uncommon but can happen), as well as a large number of bugs and frustrating features that will likely get under your skin if you're not familiar with the original game and all it's "Unique" aspects.

Great game, works extremely well with my low end tablet and barely lags (in my experience) The issue is the monetisation strategy. DBD has always been under fire for their terrible monetisation, often locking great perks behind a paywall because of licencing, making the game TECHNICALLY pay 2 win. With netease taking over the monetisation system has been ten times worse, they have limited time skins that prey on fomo just like with one of my favourite games by them, Identity V. I love both these games, but the monetisation is extremely infuriating, but also highly affective so props to them.
