INTRODUCTION
As a fan of Girls Frontline, I was excited to try Project N.E.T., a third-person shooter set in the same universe. This game takes a fresh approach, moving away from traditional strategy mechanics and immersing players in high-intensity, real-time combat. Developed by Hecate Games, it retains the cyberpunk aesthetic and deep lore that Girls Frontline fans love while introducing new gameplay elements.
GAMEPLAY & MECHANICS
The game places players in the role of Griffin's elite Tactical Dolls (T-Dolls), who must train in virtual battle simulations to prepare for an impending crisis. The combat system is fast-paced and accessible, with an auto-aim feature that ensures smooth shooting mechanics.
One of the standout features is the tactical chip system, which allows players to modify their combat abilities in a roguelike fashion. Equipping different chips can change how weapons behave—some add explosive damage, while others increase critical hits or deploy area traps. This customization makes each battle feel unique.
The game also includes multiple modes, from co-op missions to 5v5 multiplayer matches, which cater to both solo players and those who enjoy competitive play.
GRAPHICS & PERFORMANCE
Visually, Project N.E.T. stays true to the Girls Frontline aesthetic, featuring anime-style character designs and futuristic environments. The battlefields are well-designed, and the UI feels polished. However, some performance issues—such as frame drops, occasional black screens, and minor bugs—can impact the experience.
SOUND DESIGN
• Weapon sound: Each gun has a distinct audio profile, from the sharp burst of an SMG to the heavy thud of a sniper rifle. The sound effects feel weighty and realistic, enhancing the impact of gunfights.
• Ambient & Environmental Sound: The battlefields feel alive, with background noises like distant gunfire, mechanical hums, and digital alerts, reinforcing the high-tech setting.
• Character Voice: Since the game features T-Dolls from the Girls' Frontline universe, the voice acting is top-notch, with each character bringing personality to the battlefield. Their combat callouts help with immersion, making you feel like you're leading an elite squad.
PROS: ⭐
✅ T-Dolls in action—a great expansion of the Girls' Frontline universe.
✅ Fast-paced shooter gameplay with smooth mechanics.
✅ Tactical chip system adds replayability and strategic depth.
✅ Multiplayer options for both casual and competitive play.
CONS: ❌
❌ Performance issues - including lag and crashes, Black Screen.
❌ Limited variety in missions, Maps - which can feel repetitive.
❌ Gacha elements - which some players feel focus too much on monetization.
OVER ALL:
For fans of Girls' Frontline, Project N.E.T. offers a thrilling new way to experience the universe, shifting from strategy to action while keeping the tactical depth. The sound design is immersive, and the gameplay is engaging, but performance issues and audio balancing need fixing.
RATING: 7/10 ⭐
