OCTOPATH TRAVELER: CotC Reviews

When I first saw the trailer for OCTOPATH TRAVELER: CotC, I was excited. It must be comparable to the quality on the Nintendo Switch, which was my initial thought. Obviously, it disappointed me. Square Enix has been very active and positive in terms of regional limits. They are always happy to make players in some regions gnash their teeth. I'd like to say that the US version that finally launched after such a long wait actually doesn't have an English voiceover. Are you serious?

As someone who spends a lot of time playing and writing about mobile games, I’ve also spent a lot of time wondering what’s holding mobile games back from getting precisely the same level of critical adoration as console and PC games. Take my favorite genre, the role-playing game, as an example. PC has a legacy of incredible RPGs stretching all the way back to the ’80s (even a little earlier, really). Consoles were the birthplace of Japanese RPGs, spawning beloved franchises like Final Fantasy that are still popular today.

Just finished Bestower of Wealth/Power/Fame Prologue, meaning that I have finished all the available Main Story Quests, and the only I can say is... I want more!!! The flow of the story keeps you invested enough, and unlike the original Octopath Traveler, it all divulges into a greater picture, making it all interconnected, something the OG missed. Battles can be as complex as it can be, as you get further into the game, which makes every decision you make equally important as your character roster. Yes, it's a Gacha, but as long as you don't blow everything in one go and spend your Rubies economically, you will eventually more 5 stars. Heck, I finished most of the story just by relying on my single 5*, because the other 4* are amazing, too.

Looking pretty good at 4/10 rating. Why did the developers/publisher think this is a good idea. Yes, VPN is a thing but alienating your player base discourages them in further to trying your game. Game looks good on videos though. But it's a one out of ten right off the bat if I'm not even allowed to play it.

This game really captured all of the good parts from the original octopath traveler. This gacha system is not too bad, like other gacha games, it has guarantee change to get SSR if you roll enough times. The gacha system does not affect the gameplay too much. Also, since this is a single player game, so there is no OP meta in this game. PS: please enjoy it at your own pace.

Graphics and gameplay is nice and smooth, I'm also invested in the stories, adventures, and the characters. Although, it is quite unfortunate to have a limited access for other regions because it disables the opportunity for this game to go big and disables the opportunity for other players to try this game. But I still think the overall gameplay is pleasant. Now for the ones who have region issues. All you need to do is use any VPN that you like (I used Atlas VPN | Dont judge). Then connect to a United States (USA) server. Then download the app and enjoy the experience of a single player game. Thanks for reading.

Absolutely does justice to the original as far as visuals and music. Wouldn't spend my hours spent on this series any differently. + you can pick and choose which characters to invest time into story-wise so saves the trouble of dealing with characters you couldn't care less about.

Despite being one of Square Enix's stranger games, Nier: Automata has popped up in crossover events with tons of other titles—from having character skins in disparate games such as Rainbow Six Siege and Fall Guys, to being the inspiration for an entire raid in Final Fantasy XIV. Some of these crossovers end up feeling bizarre and like they don't really fit for the sad android stars of Nier: Automata, but Square Enix's latest guest event is a perfect match.

Octopath Traveler:CotC is a greeat RPG game from Square Enix. When I first launched it I didnt liked it because of the amount of dialogues, but after playing it for a couple of hours I was glad that I didnt dropped it. Combat and progression mechanics are great. You just need to be in a mood for some storytelling. Lets take a look? I recently tried out Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent and I got to say, this game is pretty impressive. Gameplay wise this game is set a few years before the first game Octopath Traveler. Now I've never played the original first Octopath Traveler so I cannot compare the PC version to this prequel mobile game. But what I can say is that this game is pretty impressive. You can have up to 8 members in your party, and while they all can't fight at one time, you can swap the front and back row when you need to, to bring in the back row to let the front row take a rest during a big boss fight. I And you can manually control who gets swapped from the front and back row during each turn.

In order to play this game outside of the US region,you have to download this game in Google play store by using an US region Google account. If you don't have an US region Google account,you can make one by connecting your device to US Vpn,and then make a new Google account while still connected to the vpn,and then simply login to the Google play store using your new account,and now you just have to download the  game and play

Tips to play for those having issues with region lock. Use VPN with US server then download everything in game. After getting full control of your character you can now exit the game and play Octopath without VPN, you just need to get passed the title screen and tutorials. For the game its loading so slow from title screen to recieving achievements and mails. But other than that another solid RPG to play on your mobile with console like performance/quality and by the way this game plays like another eden.

For those with region block you can use Kiwi VPN and choose US Central. After logging in and creating account as well as downloading voice over or not, around 1GB. You  can disconnect   your VPN. After that you can close the game and reopen the game without VPN at all in it works as if there is no region lock. But to be honest the game feels little bland for me.

TThe game is fun, gameplay is loyal to Octopath Travelers, although the Square tries to milk the community: paid step up, reduced rewards, etc. Don't try this one, there are far better options around.

The game really caught the original Octopath Traveler gameplay and atmosphere. I love it. VPN is only necessary in the beginning of the game. After it, you can play without VPN at all. Looking forward for the next updates.

in my first run i got 3 5 stars (viola, tressa, and the guy that sells gems) and guess what, i  can't win because my team still don't have  any character with good skill, because 4 stars character got the good skill. In my second run of the game I'm amble to obtain all the rings and getting to final chapter just with one five stars. Just because you got 4 stars doesn't mean  that their skill is trash, if you're a FGO enjoyer I'm sure you'll understand.
