So, duh, let's kick off the list with the obvious choice and the one that inspired us in the first place. We've been hardcore Persona players for years, and Persona 5 really took the whole franchise to a new level. If they can capture that game's magic in mobile form, it could be an absolute game-changer.
So far we've been really impressed by what we've seen and played ourselves in early testing. Persona 5: The Phantom X is shaping up to be a compelling experience that includes all of the time management and interpersonal relationship drama that has made the franchise so legendary.

Speaking of capturing the magic of Persona, we recently got to test out a demo version of Eternights, a strangely named but absolutely fantastic action-RPG launching in September.
Though the combat is faster-paced than Persona, Eternights has an apocalyptic setting and a focus on visual novel-esque dating sim elements that will feel right at home for Persona fans. We can't wait to play the full game in a few months.

Story of Seasons is the modern version of Harvest Moon, arguably the original RPG with life sim gameplay! A Wonderful Life is the latest game in the franchise, and as a remake of one of its best entries, it's an utterly perfect entry point. Check it out if you haven't before!

And speaking of Harvest Moon, if you're looking for an experience closer to the old-school Harvest Moon games (and available on mobile), Stardew Valley is your best bet. This game makes running a farm and befriending the various townspeople ridiculously compelling, but it also still has some fun action-RPG combat and monsters. Best of both worlds!

The Fire Emblem series falls more on the hardcore end of this list, with intense, strategic combat scenarios. But don't think that means the social sim elements aren't there at all!
The latest entry, Fire Emblem Engage, can easily eat up dozens of hours just hanging out with various members of your army, working on your relationships, and most importantly of all, FISHING.

Square Enix's Octopath Traveler series has a very old-school approach to RPG combat alongside a stunning HD-2D pixel art visual style. But it also has a narrative based around forging strong connections to a large case of characters, and nowhere is that more evident than in the mobile spin-off, Champions of the Continent.
This Octopath Traveler side story may not have as much life-sim focus as other games on this list, but it allows you to take part in a number of different activities outside of just fighting monsters. And if you want to really get to know your party members and become close to them, you'll be taking part in super-lengthy, deep sidequests that flesh out these characters to an absurd degree.

Many RPGs include alchemy as a side system. For the Atelier series, though, alchemy is a lifestyle.
Atelier Marie Remake is (as the title suggests) a remake of the very first Atelier game from Koei Tecmo and Gust, which came out allllll the way back in 1997. There's a reason this franchise has lasted for a quarter of a century and has such a devoted fan base, and that reason is an incredibly deep alchemy system and tense but fun time management mechanics. If you haven't jumped in yet, give it a shot!
