SHOULD I PLAY RAINBOW SIX MOBILE?
Play it. Rainbow Six Mobile is the latest addition to the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise, and it’s a prime example of how to adapt PC and console games for mobile devices. There are a few technical issues and some awkward character designs, but Rainbow Six Mobile’s exceptional build and gameplay make it a title to watch. Get out of the way, Call of Duty: Mobile! There’s a new shooter in town.
TIME PLAYED
I played Rainbow Six Mobile for three and a half hours. During that time, I managed to complete over two dozen matches, with each one lasting anywhere between five to ten minutes. I’ve already unlocked five characters and leveled all of my operators past level five.
WHAT’S AWESOME ABOUT RAINBOW SIX MOBILE
• It’s a near-perfect mobile port of Rainbow Six Siege. I think the hardest goal to achieve when bringing any game to mobile is making it feel as accurate as possible. Making a mobile counterpart feel similar to its PC or console sibling takes a lot of time and effort, especially when the developers are dealing with smaller screens and specs. In Rainbow Six Mobile’s case, the final product feels nearly-identical to Rainbow Six Siege. Playing on mobile gives me the same experience as playing on PC, and that’s a massive achievement.
• It’s a really fun shooter. Not only is Rainbow Six Mobile masterfully made, but it’s also one hell of a good time. I unlocked five of the eighteen operators and played a bunch of different game modes, like secure area and team deathmatch. Rainbow Six Mobile nails down the standard shooter experience with dynamic movement, strategic gameplay, and great weapon customization. While it’s a little more complex than other shooters, the focus on tactics gives it an edge over competitors.
• It’s easy to get the hang of. Rainbow Six Mobile does a great job of introducing its gameplay mechanics. It runs through the specifics very thoroughly and gave me a better feel of how the controls worked on mobile. While older players won’t really have any issue getting the hang of things, newcomers should find the in-depth tutorial and tips really helpful.
• The graphics are remarkable. On a strong Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra at max graphics settings, this game looks phenomenal. Almost everything looks identical to its PC and console counterparts and sings with beauty.
WHAT SUCKS ABOUT RAINBOW SIX MOBILE
• Character designs. I’ve grown up playing the PC version of Rainbow Six, so I’m used to playing with rugged characters that have a realistic style. In Rainbow Six Mobile, characters look less realistic and more cartoony. This isn’t a huge issue, but as someone that’s invested nearly a thousand hours into Rainbow Six Siege, it just doesn’t look right.
• The interface is a little too big. Rainbow Six Mobile’s most significant problem is the gameplay interface. The size ratio for the buttons and the spacing between them makes navigating the controls a little awkward and pretty difficult. This can be fixed with a little tweaking, but having to change the layout in the settings irked me.
• It can strain your phone’s hardware. Even on the lowest settings, I couldn’t play Rainbow Six Mobile consistently because my phone would get too hot. I’m not entirely sure why it heats up so fast or if there’s anything I can do to fix it, but I’ve never encountered an issue with a game like this before. I could only play around five or six matches in a row before I had to let my phone cool down for five minutes. I hope this issue gets fixed in the future.

The Best Rainbow Six Come to Mobile
Woah, this game's graphics are insane! Seriously, playing Rainbow Six Mobile on my phone feels like playing it on a PC. Same maps, same lighting, same detailed environments - I can't tell the difference unless I crank my PC to ULTRA settings (which my phone somehow pulls off, with my Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, 16GB RAM, woah!).
The sound effects are just as awesome as the PC version. Explosions, footsteps, drone buzzes - everything sounds SO good. Sure, there might be a tiny glitch here and there, but the devs are fixing them faster than Sledge busts through walls. Seriously, if you hear anything weird, report it on the Rainbow Six Siege Discord - they're all ears!

Rainbow 6 Mobile is Here! Is the New Mobile-FPS Worth Your Time?
Rainbow 6 Mobile is a mobile take on Ubisoft’s tactical first-person squad shooter, Rainbow 6 Siege. Like Siege, R6 mobile aims to deliver the slower, more methodical approach to shooting onto a mobile, handheld package. While the shooting and strategy can be fun, the game is kind of held back by its meager content offerings of only two game modes with only a map each, which can make the gameplay loop feel repetitive and stale after a while.

You can tell you aren't a mobile gamer even without saying you came from Seige. You need to buy a phone cooling fan (basically just a heatsink fan attached) off Amazon for like 20 bucks for your S22 because Samsung has no concept of heat management. Well, more like it doesn't fit with their budget (on a $1000 dollar phone they cheap out) and design goal of the phone being as slim as possible. Any game that taxes your CPU/GPU will cause this.

Author likedI've played tons of different games on my phone. Everything from RPGs to FPS games and battle royales, and rarely, if never, had an issue with overheating. That said, I'm not a super tech-enthusiastic guy so I wouldn't know why this happens, but I can confidently say that it's never happened with any other game before, even when playing at the highest settings.
