Since 2019, I've been immersed in the world of Arknights, a game known for its outstanding 2D graphics and captivating story. With its excellent tower defence gameplay and meticulous design, the game has received widespread acclaim. Recently, Arknights CN has once again started a collaboration with Rainbow 6, and I believe this amazing partnership will soon reach the global servers. If you want to be well-prepared for the event, starting to play Arknights now is a wise choice.
I'm going to summarise the current version's suitable operators for beginners, and minimise the recommendation of limited operators to meet the needs of newcomers. As a result, I no longer recommend some powerful limited operators, such as Skadi the Corrupting Heart and Chongyue.
The operators that are not explained but appear in the picture indicate that they have good temporary value and can be progressed.
Vanguard
1. Bagpipe - Second Skill: Bagpipe's second skill has a very high multiplier, making it effective against early low-quality small enemies and elite enemies. If without Mountain, she can be a good alternative.
2. Siege - Second Skill: The second skill is an AoE skill, useful for dealing with low-quality enemies. It provides timely clearing speed during high-pressure openings.
3. Myrtle - Myrtle's talent can alleviate the survival pressure of other Vanguards to a considerable extent. In the current version, she is generally used in conjunction with Texas (unlocked through mainline missions). Recommended to improve her first skill to Rank 3 for more efficient game-start startups.
Guards
1. Thorns - Third Skill: Thorns' third skill provides sustained and stable output while also addressing aerial threats. Due to the attack recovery mechanism, Thorns needs to continuously engage enemies to warm up the skill. It's worth noting that this skill is highly dependent on specialization, with level 7 and Rank 3 representing distinct abilities. Therefore, it is recommended to aim for Rank 3.
Lappland can be considered as a substitute.
2. Blaze - Second Skill: Blaze, as a veteran operator, has a mechanism that may be considered outdated. However, her second skill extends her attack range by one grid, allowing for cross-row/column output and post-defensive output possibilities. Blaze excels at blocking three enemies at once, exhibiting high durability and consistent, smooth output. Mastery level three is also recommended for optimal performance. Additionally, pairing Blaze with Saria can yield unexpected synergies.
3. Mountain - Second Skill: Mountain, another seasoned operator, possesses a second skill with both AoE output and strong self-sustainability. Particularly effective against enemies on the second and third fronts, Mountain can also function as a vanguard for blocking early-game minions.
Snipers
1. Exusiai - Third Skill: Exusiai's third skill excels in dealing significant damage against mid to low armored enemies, demonstrating strong single-target damage. Additionally, she boasts excellent anti-air capabilities, with a fast turn rate.
2. Blue Poison - First Skill: Blue Poison, a powerful 5-star sniper, demonstrates exceptional early-game performance with her auto skill, Double Shot. Leveraging her poison damage and forking functionality, she is suitable for consistent use.
Casters
1. Eyjafjalla - Second Skill: Eyjafjalla's second skill offers a user-friendly AoE attack, with a fast skill recovery rate. It also provides a weakening effect on enemy magical resistance, making her a versatile AoE caster for clearing groups of enemies. Improve skills 2 and 3 to RANK3 are viable.
2. Ifrit - Third Skill: Ifrit's third skill, while requiring favorable terrain, can often find optimal positions on many maps. This skill delivers AoE attacks with burn and weakening effects, showcasing outstanding damage output. Ifrit excels in clearing enemies arranged in rows or columns.
Defender
1. Saria - First and Second Skill: Saria's first skill has a small range but provides a massive amount of healing, triggering only when allies are below half health. It ensures timely healing and is the most commonly used skill. The second skill has a large AoE but smaller healing amounts, suitable for remote healing or group damage resistance.
2. Hoshiguma - Second Skill: Hoshiguma's second skill provides high defense and is effective for dealing with distant enemies, protecting ranged units from long-range enemies.
3. Horn - First Skill: Horn's first skill boasts rapid healing, high output, and significant physical damage. Additionally, this skill comes with an anti-stealth effect, making it an excellent ability for both support and damage.
Medic
1. Shining - Third Skill: Shining's third skill offers high healing and provides additional physical defense to allies. It is effective against high physical damage.
2. Nightingale - Second Skill: Nightingale's second skill provides both AoE healing and a certain degree of magic resistance, making her a well-rounded AoE healer.
3. Honeyberry - Second Skill: Effective against mental damage, Honeyberry performs exceptionally well in countering elemental damage.
Supporter
1. Suzuran - Second Skill: Suzuran's second skill is mainly used in situations requiring slow effects. While her output is relatively low, she can still be used when needed.
Specialist
1. Gravel - Second Skill: Gravel gains a barrier upon deployment, and her redeployment time is significantly reduced. Useful for distracting enemy skills or in specific situations.
