This game is made by ChillyRoom. a prequel of soul knight, their previous game, just like the name suggest. i have the experience of playing season 1 of this game for a while right after the game just released. so i want to take my chance to review this game.

Story

this game takes place far before the event of soul knight. the world is still not that futuristic. the technology even still in development. you act as one of the trio childhood friends that just become adult and want to make a knighthood. so we set up a journey.

the story in this game is enjoyable and i like it. im a lore fanatic, so i tend to follow the story of a game seriously. but in note, the story is interesting. when i know the game's story is boring, i'll skip the story right away. but, this game's story is pleasing to me, and i find myself want to know more, the more the story progress. idk if the story keep updated each season, or it just ended and no more story progress. since i stop playing it before i fnished all the story. i finished the earth's story, already defeat the villain. and already have all of the stones fragment. but there are the continuation that i forgot the detail. but if im not wrong, its that the stones become missing again.

Gameplay

the gameplay is different with the previous soul knight. in soul knight, each char can only bring 1 skill to the battle. but for this game, we can bring up to 8 skills. each player can have up to 2 classes per acc that will combined as a hybrid class when we level up(1 class as starter then can choose an hybrid class when we level up that a combine class of your base class that you choose at the beginning and another base class). so 4 skills for the first class, 4 skills for the second class. i forgot if hybrid class's skills can be put at the base class or at both class. if im not wrong, the hybrid class' skills has the same color of the base class's skills.

the battle in just like a classic dungeon based rpg game. choose 1 stage map, find the way to the boss, defeat it, finish. keep repeating it until you achieved what you want. its tiring, the farming in this game is so tough. the drop rate is suck and the gacha(for equipment) is event worse. you can get good equipment through clearing the stage. but dont have a high hopes, since most of it sucks.

the main reason i stop playing is, i cant handle any more game that requires consistent farming. i already have too much games to play...

Soundtrack and Sound Effect

if you played soul knight before, you know they dont miss with this. the music in this game is so relaxing. you wont feel bored when hearing it. i have no comment for this one.

Graphic and Visual

it still has the same artstyle with the previous soul knight. it still has that pixel artstyle. the mvement in this game is good. the skill effect and animation too is good, just like the past soul knight. but i see it that, the visuals are more polish in this game than the past soul knight.

Overall : 4/5

The game is well done. There's nothing bad that need to be complained. It's just that this game is too grindy. If you want to get better equipment, you need to keep farming until you dont know when. The drop rate in this game is too low.

But yeah. If you just want to play it normally, it can. But it will be harder to complete the event or even to progress the story. Since the requirement can become grindy too.
