Honkai Impact 3rd has the most intricately-planned plot, amazing storytelling and animated cutscenes, and the best roster of female (and male) characters in any gacha game ever.

......which is why this game will never be successful among the new generation of gamers.

Look, as a player of the game since 2020, I've devoted several hours into this game, because you know I'm all about the LORE. I've even once played this game for 24 hours straight - that too during the period of online classes, and also considering the overwhelming success of other HoYoVerse games.

Nowadays, if you're looking for a gacha game with a rewarding system, then this game could cross your mind - it's generous than most other games and has monthly events where you could get your hands on some neat character cards that'll help you plough your way through the combat and story. But, gamers riddled with short attention spans and the desire to just get on with the story can't simply follow this system.

Typically, there'd be skip tickets or auto-battle that acts as a bypass or a handicap for such players, but Honkai Impact 3rd never had that idea in the first place. After all, it's an (limited) open-world 3D action RPG; you have to move your characters manually, attack manually, dodge manually, and use your skills/ultimates. Manually. Do you have any idea how much an AI, that could do the movement and combat for you, would affect such games?

Gacha is fair for beginner players, but once you're out of gems is when that crushing reality hits you - life's not fair sometimes.

Enough complaining, this game beats every other game in every other parameter possible, the UI (recently) is accessible, the combat is fun, the skills/ultimates of each character is really well-animated, the collaborations are crazy but all make sense, the music is good (but is it really that good?) and the LORE is immaculate. It's so good, that the average gamer might not understand most of it once you've played through the chapter. It's so good, you'd have to have a second device in your hand at all times, and pull up the Fandom Wiki to know the character's names and motivations. Yeah, the plot is really, really, REALLY good, so good that I can't describe it in words.

Play this game. It's the brainchild of HoYoVerse as a whole; there's nothing to take away from the game's innumerable feats and achievements.
