This review is long due, i have played this game for a better part of 6-7 years now, stopped and went back multiple times over that period, and now I believe is the time to shed more light on this amazing game from the company that created #GenshinImpact & #HonkaiStarRail, here goes!

Disclaimer: i am not a story buff at heart! I played these games for gameplay and characters mostly, this will be my own view and not to be taken as an all inclusive review due to the sheer scope of this game and what it offers i will not be able to show everything but i will show what i can.

#Story & Depth: The Honkai Impact 3rd story is a little bit confusing to keep it blunt but at the same time is one of the most beautiful and emotionally filled sequence of events i have ever seen in a Gacha game ever. for new players the story will be at it’s strongest due to the changes made over the years and how much more organized and well polished it is at this point! Not to say too much about the other aspects yet but, almost all other events and modes add to the story and lore of the characters themselves which is incredible in scope once you get into it!
For the exact story details I suggest you play the game yourself to experience it all or check it out online Honkai Impact 3rd Fandom Wiki

#Gameplay & Modes: The game offers and I can’t believe I’m saying this… TOO MANY GAME MODES! It is actually insane how much you can do in this game in terms of engaging gameplay, relaxing modes, farming and exploration as well, the gameplay is mostly a fast paced realtime fighting action style game where you get into different stages and complete them with different objectives (Kill all, combo, time limite…etc). The recommended screen shows things you can engage in based on what is new and available currently for you in terms of (Story, Farming and Events).
The Start screen is where you will find things you want to mostly begin with, this is just guidance for you not to be lost when starting.
One of the modes that can be very fun is “Open world”, this mode takes you into completely different places with their own story and engaging characters, you have similar gameplay but in a semi- Open world to explore and enjoy.
The Challenge screen is where you will find all challenging modes that are mostly “Weekly” modes that offer various rewards and achievements when completed and might be the hardest modes in the game in this screen hence the “Challenge” aspect.
The Event screen is where you will find repeating events and newly released ones as well, some are story related while others are Armada (Guild) related.

One of more lore filled modes is the “Elysian Realm”. This is by far one of my favorite game modes and one that is ever changing and engaging!
This mode is basically a Rouge-Like mode where you choose one of your own characters and play different floors with them, you start with some advantages and disadvantages (Change every rotation) , each floor you win offers you one of three passives to choose from from a multitude of different types and you have to choose the best to fit your characters play-style and abilities.
Each time you clear the floors you gain more ability points to become stronger before your next run as well as more lore on the type of passives you choose (passives are connected to characters you meet within the realm) , this adds a more engaging and enjoyable experience with the offered gameplay experience as well.
(Abilities to unlock as additional passives and powers, can be unlocked with each successful run if you have the points for it)
Note: These do not represent the actual rouge-like skills, these are just extra passives to gain on top of that you get in game as you play the floors.

#Characters & Development: This section is the whole point of Gacha games! The reason to keep playing and keep growing! THE WAIFUS! (technically no male characters to own in this game but also not completely true, there are some but available in specific game modes only).
(Images shown below are from my own roster and it might not include all characters in the game currently)
The game offers a unique variety of characters to choose from, grow and develop over your playtime experience, for new players the game is highly generous in offering characters to use based on the events and missions you complete as well as “Trail” characters that can be used to finish some events.
There are multiple different types of units going from ranged to melee as well as those who have different types of elements (Thunder, Fire, Ice, Physical…etc), all with their own different weapons to be equipped as well as their own Stigmas that boost their power and survivability (if you have played gacha games u’d understand this concept pretty easily) these basically complete your character’s build and optimize their power.
Raiden Mei “Herrscher of Thunder” , a katana user that utilizes the element of thunder with their abilities and attacks, used as a main DPS unit in teams.
Rizaliya Oleneyeva “Molotov Cherry” a great sword user that uses physical damage and is a but slower than most but deals great damage in return, mostly used as a Sub-DPS.
Fischl “Prinzessin der Verurteilung” - Genshin Collab Character A thunder bow user that is mainly used as a support to other thunder DPS units, can be a DPS herself if built correctly.

#Your Dorm (why need this?)
The dorm is basically a home you can build, customize and expand on to gain rewards overtime, you can also place cute Chibi versions of your own characters here!
The more furniture you add to the dorms and the more you expand it the more “Comfort” the character will gain which means more rewards overtime.
Japanese Style Dorm Room
Beach Style Dorm Room
Casual Comfy Style Dorm Room
These passives are gained the more leveled up your dorm squad is which is basically all your characters you own, these helps with having more coins and stamina in-game.
The other type of bonus gained is Stats! The higher the dorm squad is the better the stats are as is shown in the image above.

#Gacha & Shop: This is obviously a Gacha game and so it offers multiple Gacha elements suchs as character and weapon banners, these include the usual Featured/ Limited banners as well as the casual banners that can be used at any time.
The in-game shop itself offers alot of options to choose from, “most” of the items in the shop are bought using in game currencies, but we obviously can tell that there is a paid element to this as well as it is with every gacha game out there.

Mihoyo is famous for making games such as Genshin Impact & Honkai StarRail, but Honkai Impact 3rd was one of their first Gacha games created and is still going strong in content and updates, this game is more like games such s PGR: Punishing Grey Raven in gameplay than anything else.
#Final thoughts and conclusions: I genuinely believe that this is one of the best gacha games ever made, it is highly slept on these days with games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai StarRail taking the market but this was Mihoyo’s Baby Gacha that has turned into it’s own universe and boy was it a wonderful journey… and it is STILL GOING!
I would 100% recommend this game to everyone who loves actions and story filled games with gacha mechanics and one of the most content filled games ever played in my life. 10/10 ✅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
(Apologies for the extremely long review📝♥️)

does it have controller support yet ?

For PC: you can use a controller but i am not 100% sure if you can change the controller setup that you need to check on your own. For Mobile: you can also use a controller via bluetooth (this includes Ios & Android phones and tablets), usually works very well for combat but you will need to use the touch screen for some things in menus and such.
