This game will take you to your dream world. I mean for real.
I remember being glued to it for half an hour because it was so relaxing. So, Alto’s Odyssey has a storyline and is an endless runner game (the Zen mode). You can play the mission mode to unlock new characters and items, but if you don't want to, you can always fly around mountains and other landscapes while experiencing different seasons. It is so calming, followed by relaxing music. A minimal vector art style.
But I feel they have added the visual effects, animations, and transitions, even though they are subtle, in just the right amount and in the right way to keep you engrossed.
The controls and game mechanics are simple to use but may take some practice to adjust. The sound effects are beautiful too. For a mobile size game, I feel sometimes the character and its movement are not clearly visible; it doesn't impact my gaming experience, though. But you can miss the movement if you’re in the mission mode. The gameplay remains the same with some tricks and stunts which were really cool but for some it can seem a bit repetitive. In the mission mode, sometimes I couldn’t understand the tasks clearly so maybe they can ease the vocabulary over here or mention in details about the activity if the user is consistently failing. The UI is also very simple and classy.
It’s a highly engaging and addictive game that can help you take your mind off stupid things and just calm down a little. Perfect for a relaxing time killer experience.
