Introduction
Welcome aboard, roving voyager.
Upon the shores lay the silent embers of a world during the Ebb Tide.
Desolated by the Lament, the erstwhile creations and earthly beings are left static.
But they strike back, strong enough to penetrate the silence. Humanity has risen anew from the ashes of the apocalypse. And you, Rover, are poised for an adventure of Awakening. Companions to meet, enemies to conquer, new powers to gain, hidden truths to unveil, and unseen spectacles to behold... A vast world of endless possibilities awaits. The choice rests in your hands. Be the answer, be the leader, and follow the sounds to arrive at a new future.
Wuthering Waves is a story-rich open-world action RPG with a high degree of freedom. You wake from your slumber as Rover, joined by a vibrant cast of Resonators on a journey to reclaim your lost memories and change the world.
Its been a long time since WuWa released and i played it, but i never make a review about it. so i want to take my chance to review it. feel free to read it.
Story
To be honest, i kinda dont like with how the story start. the pacing is good, but too much information dump, with no explaination about the world's term that they kept mentioning. even though they will explain it later. but yea, we start with nothing in our head. so, its kinda hard to follow in the beginning.
maybe its rude for me to say, but for huanglong's story, it kinda got carried by the companion quest. well, after jinzhou's arc, the story become more interesting though.
Gameplay
This game gameplay might be not welcome for everyone. for someone with lots of experience with hack and slash genre or a hardcore game player, this game maybe suits them perfectly. but for someone new to high paced gameplay, this game might be not their cup of tea.
this game is a skill-based game. so, every character in this game can become good or bad depends on the player itself. but still, its still recommended to follow the meta to keep up in each patch tho.
Ost and Sound Effect
if there's something i really like in this game, it would be the Ost and sound effect in this game. the ost that played during certain scene, the sound effect, i felt goosebump very often becuz of it. it really increased the emotion that we currently in.
the effect in the gameplay fits perfectly too, for me. there was never been a case, where it felt out of place for me.
Graphic and Visual
the graphic is good. ofc it is, since they use unreal engine. the visual, the scenery in this game looks good too, especially in the cinematic scene. even though personally, there's something i kinda hate too. when in a non cinematic scene(scene with skip option available), often the movement or the placement not really in the right place. uh... how do i say it. for example, if there's a holding hand scene, the hands sometimes didnt even touch each other. or when a char leaning to other char's body, the one that leaning didnt even touch the body of the other one. well, idk if its just my problem or everyone's problem. so please forgive me, if its just my own problem 👀
Ratings
Overall : 4/5
since the game using unreal engine, there are frequent bug that happens occasionally. especially right after the new patch update. the problem that i occasionally happen to me is texture and rendering problem. it usually will blur and load to long. well, atleast that's what happen to me.
i like about the fact its skill-based game. since good or bad our gameplay depends on our skills at controlling our chars. with that, i still can keep up with new update with outdated meta char (my luck sucks at gacha😔)
That's all i can say about this game. its just my personal thought, so feel free to comment if you have something in mind, after reading it.
