If you’re gonna make a gacha game based on an anime, this is what it should be like

SHOULD I PLAY ONE PUNCH MAN WORLD?

Hell yeah! When I first played One Punch Man World last year, I was blown away. That hasn’t changed now and I’m still surprised by how good the full version is. This game executes almost all of its features exceptionally well and does an incredible job of capturing the appeal of the One Punch Man anime and manga. One Punch Man World is a perfect example of what a gacha game should be: insanely fun and addictive, visually stunning, and not filled with extremely pay-to-win systems.

TIME PLAYED

I played One Punch Man World for five hours. I’ve reached team level 15 and ranked four characters up to tier 2 level 40. I’ve also completed over sixty commissions and nearly two dozen main story quests, and I’ve acquired nine out of the twenty available characters.

WHAT’S AWESOME ABOUT ONE PUNCH MAN: WORLD?

• Slicing monsters to bits. I said it before and I’ll say it again: Nothing beats throwing punches and kicks at enemies in One Punch Man World. Every character has their own unique abilities and play style to make combat a little more complex and interesting. Mastering these characters and experimenting with different team compositions was really fun and I personally enjoyed using Triple-Staff Lily and Iairon for their incredibly fast slashes and whacks that helped me beat almost every mission I went on.

• Playing on PC is so much better. The mobile version of One Punch Man World is brilliant, and I urge everyone to give it a try. But the PC version is absolutely the best way to play this game and enjoy it to the fullest. If you have the opportunity to play One Punch Man World on a computer, I highly recommend it. Everything is optimized for PC, and it looks ten times better on a larger screen.
• Anime to gacha game. One Punch Man World really is just like the anime. Even after months of development, the game hasn’t lost sight of its origin and remains true to its source. The developers have perfectly captured the essence of One Punch Man and made it into a gacha game. From the cutscenes to the quests and battles, playing this game feels like stepping into the anime.

• Customizable settings. This is easy to overlook, but the settings available in One Punch Man World show just how much thought was put into this game. I was able to customize my graphics settings and gameplay controls to suit my play style. I could tweak the visual quality and window size to suit my PC’s specs and change the controls to a dynamic setting, which allowed me to fight enemies freely in whatever way I wanted without locking on to each one automatically.
• Animated scenes. The launch version of One Punch Man World has a lot more animation in it compared to the test build I tried last year. The majority of the dialogue scenes now feature full animation as the characters talk and interact, which made for a much more immersive experience.
TapTap
• It looks gorgeous. Not only have the developers captured what makes One Punch Man so good, but the art style looks identical too. The characters, enemies, and environments in this game could have been plucked directly out of the anime for how good they look. And that art especially pops when playing on PC.

WHAT SUCKS ABOUT ONE PUNCH MAN: WORLD?

• Prepare for a grind. Rather than bombarding players with tons of sketchy “deals,” One Punch Man World uses a monetization system more similar to Genshin Impact. The game never forced me to spend money, but my progression slowed down when I hit certain difficult bosses or level gaps blocking the way to the next quest. The in-game shop offers useful resources for speeding up that progress, but players can opt to just grind commissions and other activities to get everything they need. I wouldn’t call One Punch Man World pay-to-win, but the intimidating grind may push some players to spend real money.
TapTap
• More microtransactions. Tons of monetization has been added to One Punch Man World compared to the test version. These include in-game resource bundles, gacha pulls, battle passes, and log-in reward promos, among other options. I haven’t reach endgame yet, but at least so far I feel confident that any player could play and enjoy One Punch Man World without spending a penny. Just be aware that the microtransactions are much more present now, and it’s always possible that they could twist the knobs to make them much more annoying to go without.

Just get rid of the extremely greedy practices and the absurdly low rate drops, and the monsters you are most likely getting in banners and yes, it could be a success. The graphics look astonishing, of course, but with the combination of the above ingredients... is just not worth it. Not surprised with what CrunchyRoll was cooking, just to milk every penny out of every player's wallet. :(

Just uninstalled the game. Rerolled for hours still no good units to use, drop rate is whack. The game is good almost console like but greed takes over.

One Punch Man: World shows that anime adaptations don’t have to be trash
SHOULD I PLAY ONE PUNCH MAN: WORLD? Play it. One Punch Man: World executes almost all of its features exceptionally well and captures the essence of the One Punch Man manga and anime impeccably. Although it doesn’t introduce anything revolutionary to the gacha RPG genre, One Punch Man: World sets an example as an adaptation done right. TIME PLAYED I played One Punch Man: World for four hours. I’ve completed over two dozen quests and made it to the third chapter in the main storyline. I’ve also finished over fifty commissions and leveled one of my characters to level 60.

One Punch Man World: A Bald Blast of Fun (Mostly) Yo! So I just punched my way through One Punch Man World, and let me tell you, it's a trip. As a huge OPM fan, I was hyped to wreck face as Saitama and the crew, and for the most part, the game delivers. Here's the skinny: The Good:  One Punch Punch * Faithful to the Franchise: The graphics are straight out of the anime, and the voice acting (both English and Japanese) is spot on. Hearing Saitama's monotone pronouncements of doom never gets old.  They even got the humor right, with plenty of winks to the series' hilarious moments.
