The sequel to one of the most brutal, disgusting Metroidvanias ever is about to launch

If you played the original Blasphemous anytime since it came out in 2019, then you know it was a disturbingly bloody little game that proved that pixel-art graphics can still bring the gore and grossness. And if you played it, you'll also know that on top of being filled with messed up enemies and cutscenes, it was also an extremely good Metroidvania.
But whether you played the first game or not, you should take note of the impending release of Blasphemous 2. This sequel brings a similar Bloodborne or Dark Souls-style aesthetic but ups the ante with a much bigger world, more weapon types and abilities to unlock, and a story that's somehow even darker than the first.
In other words, it's great! If you want more details, you can check out the Quick Review from TapTap editor Kef:
Blasphemous 2 launches on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S tomorrow, August 24. It will cost $29.99 for the regular game or $39.99 for the deluxe edition, which includes a digital artbook and soundtrack. Good luck exploring the deep, dark corners of Cvstodia, Penitent Ones.
